Clyde O. McDaniel is a Professor of Sociology at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
He received his B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Fayetteville State University, North Carolina
Central University, and the University of Pittsburgh respectively. His areas of specialization are
applied social research, social problems, and urban sociology. He has directed research centers
in school systems and universities; he has served in various university administrative capacities;
and he has consulted, given editorial assistance, and presented papers throughout the country and
abroad.
